SPLA should never move away from Heglig BY: KUACH YAK TUTKUAY SPLA will never move away from Heglig. The purpose of this article is to congratulate comrade Kiir on his quick and brave response to the UNâs decision, ordering the SPLA to move away from Heglig. The decision came from the secretary general of the UN Mr. Ban Ki Moon, we never knew what he was trying to exercise or had he befriended John Walker before the night fall. The decision was very controversial that it even made many people to doubt the position of UN in the south-north border issue. When I heard it in the news I couldnât believe my ears, I said Ki Moon is a mere prophet of Bashir trying to prophesy with Bashirâs tongue. President Kiir expressed his reaction fearlessly, a typical warrior who suffered 21 years in the bush and have been among so many martyrs so death for oneâs country is not something new to him. Mr. Kiir knew very well the reason as to why did he remain alive among so many martyrs, he had an obligation to fulfill what led to the loss of 2.5 million people. If Bashir and his Muslims northerners believe in Jihad am sure Kiir will introduce Crusade and we Christian southerners will believe in it. Fellow citizen, what Ki Moon is showing to us here is something that we should not get surprise with because he showed himself before it could be too late, but the whole truth is, âif we have been waiting for Ki Moonâs UN to handle the situation, now their whole decision is on our tableâ what else do we think is yet to come? I am of the opinion that we have already lost 2.5 million brave, hardhearted men and women through war, therefore, we are not fearing war since the outcome is to lost live, which is not new to us. How beautiful it is to die for your own country, to protect your territorial integrity. Lets fight to the last drop of our blood as long as we are protecting our territorial integrity, the UNâs decision is for sure a green light because since we got our independent the Arab have been doing all kind of controversies but we were yearning for peaceful solution simply because we have a vision. So, UN thought we donât have the ability to fight back, now letâs show them that we can avenge. And am sure Ban will be very sorry to have given this oppositely intended green light. Mr. President, we donât want an excuse that there are no food, weapons and other equipments for the SPLA. We know we are not economically stable but make sure if things goes like that let the little money we have goes to the SPLA. If am going to receive my salary and my nation is being taken by force is there an achievement I made, but I will be happy if my salary is channeled to the purchases of weapons that I will have my gun to protect my country because we have been doing this for twenty-one years in the bush without salaries and yet we succeed. Let there be in place a military strategy for we already knew that all walls of agreements with Khartoum are dilapidating that you will never sit opposite with Bashir on table holding a kind of peaceful negotiation unless you show him your color, sincerely speaking, peace will come after war. South Sudanese must keep their eyes open to this kind of inhumanity by the Khartoum and their supporters whose Ki Moon appeared amongst today. Too much of something is always a calamity, all these came about because we have been an incredible peace loving nation. Remember, if someone slap your right cheek and you turned him the left, he surely slap it again but if you responded by giving him an hefty blow he will never repeat. My message to all south Sudanese and specially the youth is, âfellow countrymen and women, Khartoum is hunting us and of course all of us not only the SPLA, since we are the ones holding the future of this fragile state called south Sudan we must tied our belts to stand firm with our government all days and nights and must show ourselves to the world whenever we are not happy with the decision madeâ a nation is like a body, when your eye is pain the other part of the body will not feel well. So if our brothers in Heglig are being killed by our enemy, it is our concern of course. I am of the opinion that from the time of announcement by Ki Moon and his UN of the evacuation of Heglig by the SPLA, we should carry out demonstration along the streets in all the ten states to show to the world that what they are hunting for will not bring peace instead will only lead to more bloodshed. At this point in time we need to bury the hatchets and develop patriotism that we see ourselves as one people so that we will be able to withstand the enemyâs war. But if we will still carry our differences, the enemy will get chance to use us against our own people and we will be a victims of tribal conflicts. Letâs stand behind our leaders and let us support them because only with our support will they be stronger. We have a very big question we need to ask ourselves wherever we are as south Sudanese, âwhy do we have martyrs, did these people give their lives in vain, what can you do to show that you love your country just like those who gave their lives for it? By answering these questions, you will know who you are and what is your obligation in this new born south Sudan. The author can be reached at: kuach444@gmail.com 0956006442 |
