Betray for Interest

One of the main problems I have witnessed with the GOSS
employees is that they seem to be more or less interest-oriented rather than
task-oriented, this is because some civil servants or junior political
post-holders keep criticizing the individual ministers or the cabinet as a
whole and use different names instead of their real names so that they will
not be known.
This came into my notice when one of the well-known
employees in the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs & Disasters Management
criticized the two high officials in the ministry, the minister and the
undersecretary, and use different name rather than his own name thinking
that it will not be discovered. This is a total crime because how can you go
against your own government illegally and yet you are given freedom of
speech to express all your grievances publicly.
The criticizer described the two high officials (the
minister & undersecretary) as uneducated, I don’t understand what does
this means because looking at the political achievements of H.E James Kok,
they can’t be achieve by uneducated person; and the political posts he
have been holding starting with Peace commission, federal ministry of
foreign trade and the current one which is ministry of Humanitarian Affairs,
can uneducated person hold all these post one after the other? I think this
is not the issue; the criticizer might have been driven by an interest which
was not fulfilled by the ministry.
The criticizer put forwards many false propaganda like
the issue of repatriation being not properly done, appointment being done
unfairly, the issue of government cars taken for personal use and finally
tribalism which he described as nuerization and dinkanization. These terms
are very weird, they only remind us of bush life, are we all nuer to talk of
nuer affairs or dinka to talk of dinka affairs? These are all false
accusations.
Uneducated as the criticizer described have got nothing
to do with political affairs; that is, you may be a professor who do nothing
to the Sudanese communities and I may be an undergraduate who serve
the communities, when coming to contest I may win. Let me refer you to last
year election of our president Salva Kiir and Dr. Lam Akol during the
contest for presidential post. What were the results, are they affected by
education standard? That is absolutely NO! If education is a factor then we
could definitely have Dr. Lam as our president. Education and personality
are two separate things which never affect the other, personality doesn’t
affect education nor did education affect personality. A donkey may go to
school and graduated but will never cease to be call donkey and will never
stop polling a cart or behaving in a donkey’s way because it was born in
that lifestyle.
Remember, if you are use to opposition, all your goals
will go unachieved and I advise if you are use to opposing people or ideas,
get rid of it before it get rid of you otherwise you will be a failure to
the end of your ages. Individual cannot achieve anything unless joined by a
group of people with the same objective and have necessary requirements to
achieve the goal.
My fellow southerners, from this dawn of our new nation
let’s not make ourselves driven by our own interests because if we will do
so, our nation will be a corrupt state. Betraying for interest can also lead
to killing for interest. Remember God says, “It is an eye for an eye,
tooth for a tooth; if you kill by sword, with sword you will be killed”
respect your leaders for tomorrow you will be a leader and will deserve
respect too, if you don’t respect from now who do you think will owe you
respect at your reign?
Lastly, I would like to say thanks to the south
Sudanese for the bloody struggle they did which lost million lives, now that
we reached our destination let’s not allow interest to drive us otherwise
we will forget our late heroes and heroine and begin to satisfy our own
needs but I don’t wish for that to happen.
May God bless southern Sudan and maintain potential
trust amongst her leaders to deliver fairs services, and equal opportunities
for all southerners regardless of tribe, religion, age and sex.
Long life south Sudan.
